Phyllis Louise Minick

Phyllis Louise Minick, age 85, of Belpre, Ohio, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024.

She was born on May 29, 1939, the daughter of late Phillip and Louise Meredith. Phyllis is survived by her husband of 55 years, Kenneth C. Minick. who she met while he was in the Navy and stationed in Florida. For the next 9 years she was a proud Navy wife until he retired from the Navy.

Phyllis is also survived by 2 of her sons, Dave (Marla) Smith of Belpre and Ken (Maggie) Minick of Reynoldsburg, OH, three brothers Fred (Jan), Randy (Julie) and John Meredith all of Belpre, Ohio and sister Toni Frey of Belpre. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, 3 great granddaughters, several nieces, nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her middle son Gene (Geno) Smith, her brothers, Robert, James (Bubba) and Phillip Meredith, her sister Lillian Jane Lipps and sister-in-law Sue Minick.

Phyllis started bowling at Emerson lanes in the Tuesday Morning League with her sister Jane in 1978 when her family moved to Belpre and continued until she lost her eyesight in the early 2000s. She also worked at the Belpre Area Ministries (BAM) for many years until her loss of sight caused her to stop.

Phyllis enjoyed traveling around the country with her husband to many of his Navy Reunions and to visit his family in California.

According to her wishes a private cremation will take place at the Mid-Ohio Valley Cremation Society and no services are planned.
