My life and Peter's overlapped during the summer months when he was working in New York's Harriman State Park for the Boys Athletic League. Peter was a long-time mentor to me. He was my counselor and unit leader of the Cheyenne Village at Camp Kiwago. I remained in camping and spent time again with Peter when he directed Camp Kirby, the B.A.L.'s leadership training camp, for aspiring counselors of which I was one. He was a long-time mentor and over the years I followed in his footsteps to become the unit leader of the Cheyenne Village, and later I took a turn at directing Camp Kirby as well. It should have come as no surprise that all of the qualities I so much admired and appreciated in Peter were the exact same traits everyone saw and treasured, from family member, to friends, college team mates, peers and professional colleagues. It should have come as no surprise because Peter was authentically kind, wise, compassionate and generous. He truly lived these warm values and shared his positive outlook openly and honestly. His untimely passing leaves all of us who knew him shortchanged. I am thankful for the gift of his friendship and the direction he provided me when I was growing up. For now, I shall try and remain positive and to avoid focusing on what I no longer have - Peter would have approved. Thank you, Peter and my condolences to all who knew and loved him. I share in your sadness.

".. a body in motion stay in motion..in the same direction… unless acted on by an outside greater force." In this case, the body was the many people who had the good fortune to know Peter. The force was not a push, but Peter's gravitational, magnetic pull. A big brother to Mary-beth and Jeanie, Peter touched my life, and certainly many others, in similar ways. He shined a pathway beyond Wilcox Ave., or in my case Ellis Ave. I got to know Peter as an upper East Sider, a recent Wharton grad, Arthur Young accountant and a finance executive (CFO?) at International Flavors and Fragrances, not to overlook Colorado College and the many years at camp. He was young enough to be relatable, old enough to look up to. He was willing to welcome and embrace without judgement. The impact of his example was profound. His enjoyment of the simple pleasures in life was exuberant and enlightening. Tagging along on drives in his blue Vega to Bear Mountain, seeing the fall leaves, picking apples, traipsing around the Upper East Side in the evening to pop into Elaine's for a quick drink and celebrity sighting. Peter brought the delight of first time innocence to life moments he experienced over and over. Peter - Your work is done, heaven awaits. Rest in Peace.

Peter was my first cousin. His Mom Jean and my Dad John were brother and sister. Together we shared many joys and sorrows. We experienced the births of our children and grandchildren, weddings, many happy holidays including visits from Santa at Wilcox Avenue, family parties and family deaths. He lived a life of meaning. His life was a blessing, his memories a pleasure, he is respected and loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. Rest In Peace Peter Love, Ellen

I moved to NYC in 1980 and joined the NYAC shortly thereafter. Peter was a fixture on the basketball court. There were a lot of big egos on the hardwood. Machismo and sexism were still in vogue among the alpha males of the Big Apple but Peter was unfailingly welcoming, kind-hearted, upbeat, gentlemanly, and entertaining. Did I mention that his jump shot was money? It was always a pleasure to run into him on the court, in the locker room, in the Tap Room, and around town. At some point I mentioned that I had graduated from Colorado College in 1979. I don't recall Peter mentioning that he too was a graduate. I just remember him talking about his little sister Jeannie. He was effusive in his praise; there was no denying the love and pride he had for her. I left the City in 1994. Peter and I were still working on our basketball game. The wonderful first impression he had made on me 14 years earlier never waned.
