Peter Gordon Thorne

With great sadness announce the death of Gordon Peter Thorne who passed away peacefully in Cottage Hospice on January 4, 2020 after a brief battle with cancer. Peter was born in Vancouver on Sept 20, 1938 where he lived in the West End practically all his life. Predeceased by mother Ivy (Rose), artist father Gordon "Kit" Thorne, brother Leslie Taylor, and sister Ruby Gomez. Peter was a passionate classical music lover, especially Mozart, as well as enthusiastic B grade movie fan. Avid photographer who took thousands of pictures of old Vancouver and of many good friends. Keen amateur geologist scouring all over B.C. for treasure and adventure. Peter leaves behind in Vancouver nephew Rick Taylor, cousin Betty Geisinger, sister Hazel Grenier in California, and many Thorne relatives from afar. He will be greatly missed by many long time friends. No funeral as requested but Celebration of Life planned in March.
