Paul M. Durgin

Mr. Paul Marshall Durgin died peacefully in a local hospital on May 16, 2024 in Seattle, WA at the age of 76, after a long progression of vascular dementia. Paul was born on October 29, 1947 in Portsmouth, NH and lived in many locations across the country before settling in Seattle, Washington with his partner Kathy Jones. Paul is survived by daughter Thomasin Durgin of Memphis TN; and sister Sally Turner of Stuart, FL. He is preceded in death by sister Leslie Brock of Barnstead, NH; father Robert Durgin of Bradenton, FL; and mother Carol Durgin of Bradenton, FL.

Paul had a career in Land Surveying, joining the Durgin family business in New Hampshire for a number of years. He served as president of the New Hampshire Land Surveyor’s Association and was a member for all of his working life. Paul moved on to several Engineering, Geotech and Water Management companies on his journey to the West Coast.

Paul was a passionate and talented piano player throughout his life. In recent years, Paul shared his playing with participants of Memory Care Programs that he attended in Seattle, as well as with his fellow Memory Care residents at Rosewood Courte in Edmonds, WA. Paul loved creating beautiful music for others, and he continued to share his talent until the very end.

An informal remembrance observance is scheduled for September 14 at a local Seattle facility. Afterward, Paul will be honored in a small, private ceremony with immediate family.
