Patty Laine Hetherington, age 71, passed away peacefully February 20, 2022 surrounded by her sons. A longtime resident of Milton, she was preceded by her husband, Robert (Bob). Loved and devoted mother to Brent and his partner Tony, Brad and his wife Katie. Patty will be sadly missed by her grandsons, William and Jack. Survived by her sisters Colleen, Anne and Donna. She was also preceded by her sister Mary Lou.

Patty was known for her friendly attitude as well as her baking, craftiness and willingness to help others.  Her potato salad was a staple at every family gathering and her Christmas shortbread was always in high demand.  She loved to sew, often making her own clothes and numerous costumes for Halloween and high school musicals. Patty’s love of life, family and food will be greatly missed by family and friends.

“So long Mom - We hope you’re doing cartwheels in heaven.” XOXO Brad & Brent

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to the Milton District Hospital Foundation and Community Living North Halton.

When we were kids, I remember how much I enjoyed visiting my cousins, Anne, Mary Lou, Colleen and Patty on Tremaine Road! Just before COVID, Patty and I had a good visit at the FirstOntario Centre when we both were there with family and friends to see the Milton Player Theatre Group. Patty was always smiling and had a great personality! My condolences to Brent and Tony, Brad and Katie and children.

So sorry to hear of Patty's passing. I visited her at Season's just before Christmas and I thought about all the fun times we had growing up together....Palermo church choir, Palermo baseball team, sleepovers in the Meredith house on Tremaine road and summer holidays at Sauble Beach. Patty always had a bright outlook on life and a great giggle. Rest in peace friend. You will be greatly missed by your family and all who knew you.

Patty my friend, I miss you. I know you gave a major fight but we're taken too soon! I miss our chats, your good coffee, and happy hours. I'm sorry you didn't get to see Jack and William graduate and become young men. Bruce and I send our prayer and condolences to Brad, Katie, Brent and Tony.

I was so sorry to hear about Patty. Dave and I lived next door to Patty and Bob for 21 years and had many great times together. We watched Brent and Brad grow up there. You had a giggle Patty, that if I heard it anywhere, I knew that it was you. My thoughts are with the family. Hugs, Peanuts
