Osborne Barnett
June 3rd, 1922 - December 1st, 2020
June 3rd, 1922 - December 1st, 2020
Osborne Barnett, also know as Son was born in a small town called Wait-A-Bit in Trelawney, Jamaica.
He was born to parents Josiah and Eliza Barnett, who first heard the patter of his tiny feet on 3rd June 1922. There began his blessed life.
His siblings were Gilbert, Ernell, Alpheus and Cecil with Son as the middle child. Although the brothers went their separate ways, they always remained close, in fact Alpheus and Cecil joined him later in England.
Aged 32, Son travelled to England where he met and married Inez. Together they settled in Ealing and made a new life and set up home.
Son was a fantastic baker, his home was filled with the smell of his freshly baked bread, especially during the bread strike of the 1970s. His neighbours also enjoyed his tasty offerings. Later he changed his occupation to become a machine operative at Cape Panel Board based in West Drayton.
Son was always a deeply kind, thoughtful, generous, quiet and hardworking family man. He dedicated of his life to family, work and church.
In total Son had 6 children, Claire, Kitty, Patsy, Pops, Lorna and Clive and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He always had time for the important people in his life and was always poking fun and making mischief.
He was also a no-nonsense person, and would often say “ You don’t have the right sense”. If he didn’t agree with you.
On the 1st December 2020 Son passed away peacefully in his sleep. His Mother and daughter Kitty will surely be there to receive him at The Pearly Gates.
He will be surely missed by the ones that treasured him dearly.
Rest in eternal peace our handsome Son

My greetings to the family of a great man known to me as Brother Barnett. Just hearing he’s name always put a smile on my face. Words cannot even begin to express how I felt when I heard the sad news of he’s passing. I have great childhood memories at the Ealing New Testament Church where Brother Barnet and I was a member. He was a genuine disciplined man with a big heart. I’m extremely thankful to Brother Barnett and Mrs Barnett for the friendship they shared especially with my late mother. Its an honour to say your more than a friend. Precious memories. I give thanks to the Lord for the Barnett family and May peace and comfort be with you all during this difficult time. Our dear Brother Barnett has gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. Rest in perfect peace.
