Tʼáá íiyisíí ahéheeʼ, nitsaago! The family of the late Orville “Oboy” Chee are appreciative of the abundance of support and love you continue to provide during this difficult time. Chee is Tséńjíkiní (Honey Comb Rock/ Cliff Dwelling People Clan) born for Tódich'ii'nii (Bitter Water People Clan). Deeshchii'nii (Start of the Red Streak People - maternal grandfather’s clan); Honágháahnii (One-walks-around - paternal grandfather’s clan). Chee is known near and far; from the humble dirt roads in the community of Ganado, Arizona, and the Great Navajo Nation, to the cobblestone streets of Germany. Your thoughtful words and memories have brings much needed comfort to our grieving parents, Shirley and Oliver Chee. Chee, being quite the animated storyteller, had only shared stories of his team’s heroism at family gatherings; always surrounded with children and elders with eyes upon him in awe. The camaraderie, friendships, and chosen family Chee has cultivated throughout his life is immense and unmeasurable; a reflection of who he was. Our family offers our sincere condolences to his brothers in arms and to all those who love him.

I've been looking for Oboy on the internet for years. Now I've found Him and I can't put into words how I feel. But I will remember Oboy in many good and beautiful thoughts. We were partying together in Switzerland and he showed me his eagle feather. It made me proud that I was allowed to see that. I wish the family a lot of strength and love during this time. Rest in peace my friend. You were an inspiration to me. Werner from Germany

Shirley, I am so sorry to hear about Oboy. I remember playing with him as a child when you all were in Kayenta. I pray he is in heaven with my father Jimmie and my mom Betty. Hugs and prayers from the Williams family in Kayenta
