OMOLARA DAVID-KOLAWOLE

O OMOLARA DAVID-KOLAWOLE To My uncle whose relationship was but for a short time. Though I didn't get to know you so well yet for that short period when you came for Grandpa's burial in Nigeria, You showed us love and brought a gift for us,the grandchildren. We were always around you ,though grandma didn't want us to disturb you. I remembered an incident that terrified me so much at that time. Now funny to me. You were napping one sunny dayand was really snoring loudly, we( the children) were so terrified, yet curious to know where the sound was coming from until we traced it to the room you were lodged, Ha! We were so frightened and ran to tell grandma who made jest of us(ha ha ha ha). It wasn't really funny o! When you woke up and we told you,you apologized and later told us that some years ago in Texas, when people scored while sleeping, their throats were slit open but the law has long been abolished. HA! we exclaimed, wide eyed. But then you burst out in a loud chuckle of laughter(.....hmmmmm! It was not funny o!) Come and see our faces white with great fear) To the little I could say,you were a lover of children, and kind too. That time ,I saw a replica of my grandfather in you. Now that you've gone to sleep till the trumpet of rapture sounds, I pray that mercy found you, and on the resurrection morn, the awakening shall include you as we all sing to God in the highest. Sun re ooo! Omo oni saro owaga. Your memories live in our hearts and blood bond that tie us together. Adieu Uncle

My brother Olufemi was a shining example of kindness, compassion, and integrity. His tireless work ethic and commitment to fairness inspired us all. With a heart of gold and a spirit of gentleness, he touched the lives of everyone he met. His unwavering honesty and straightforwardness earned him respect, even when his words were difficult to hear. Yet, his loving nature and generosity of spirit made him a beloved figure in our lives. Femi lived selflessly, always putting others before himself. His legacy will continue to inspire us to strive for kindness, empathy, and fairness in all our endeavors. Your courage through life’s journey was incredible. You alway picked yourself up by the boot strap and never gave up. My beloved brother, our consolation is that your spirit is in a better place united with your wife and love Sue, parents (Ajayi and Ibitayo), brothers (Olubusiyi and Olusola) but more importantly resting on the bosom of your creator our Lord Jesus Christ whom you served your whole life. May his memory be a blessing to us all, and may we strive to emulate his remarkable qualities." personal style. Your courage through life’s journey was incredible.
