Such a bright shining star Ocean is I recognized his brilliance in Abu Dhabi, and always worried that he was too smart for the normal world to creative, thought in a different wavelength, Ocean continues to inspire us and comfort us.

I remember Ocean being a very sweet and intelligent young man. I can only imagine the void he leaves in his family. We love you Rob, Karima and Lilly. Don and Jan Calsyn

I am really shocked hearing the loss of Ocean. I cannot express any word for this. The first time I met him was when he was probably one year old or so. I remember at that time Karima taught him how to pronounce my name---so foreign for Americans---. He was cute and friendly, and I enjoyed being with him. Although it was a short period, but enoght long for me to be attracted by him. I have sometimes recalled that moment, which has made me feel happy. I wish he could know there is a person who thinks of you on the otherside of Earth.

I knew you as Kayden. Nobody reading will know who I am, I never got to meet you in person. Even still, I have fond memories of our fun times together. We played games like Tower Unite, Red Dead 2, Minecraft, binged Star Wars: The Clone Wars together, and got to be close, despite our physical distance. For a while there, we talked almost every day, just about whatever was on our minds. I know we didn't talk a ton towards the end, but I wish it had turned out differently all the same. I'll always remember your big heart, your sense of humor, and how smart you are.

I remember when I first met him - he screamed, haha! I knew him as Kayden - in Missouri. He wasn’t expecting to see me in the house so he screamed and ran back down the hall into his room. It made both my partner and I laugh! I didn’t see him again for another week, until he came out and, with the help of his roommate and my partner, he introduced himself. He wasn’t my biggest fan until I dropped that I loved psychology and sociology. With that fact, he began to open up - talking with me and asking questions… I only knew him for a short time but I miss him. I mood his jokes and playful manner. He was so loved.

The iconic photo is the Decapitated Gingerbread Man from our joint-cookie-baking, of course, but this one captures so much of the boy we knew in Abu Dhabi. I’m so grateful we had a chance to know him. I remember you and him baking biscuits together in that villa kitchen, and how fluffy and delicious they were. How excited he was to stay with us when you were in the hospital having Lily, and how quiet he got when we could finally bring him to see you. The books he shared with me while I was at home with my own newborn. And the sweetness that underlaid his character and made him so easy to care about. I also remember how devoted you were as parents (and how patient you were with this childless couple who thought they knew what they were talking about when discussing parenting!). You and Rob were always his first and fiercest advocates. Michael and I learned a lot from all three of you. All our love is with you ♥️
