In Loving Memory of Noëmi.
The National Coalition of Human Rights Defenders in Kenya (Defenders Coalition) is saddened by the demise of Noëmi Ral- First Secretary at the Embassy and Consulates of Belgium in Kenya. Noëmi was an ally and supporter of all human rights defenders in Kenya. We shared the same thought, values and commitment to constitutionalism, democracy, human rights and rule of law for all. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Noëmi Ral for losing a colleague, friend, mum and wife. We vividly remember salome@defenderscoalition.org for her resilience. She endured the treacherous hikes in various destinations in support of #ClimbForJustice Campaign. We pray for God’s comfort for family and friends during this difficult time. Noëmi passed away on May 20, 2021 in Johannesburg. She was tragically hit by the Corona virus and after battling it courageously she passed away. To Noëmi's mother Madam, We do not know each other, however, I would like to let you know that Noëmi's departure let me distraught. As Caroline Dumont's mother, I know that they were close and that my daughter was very very fond of her. Even if I never met Noëmi, I understand she was a wonderful young lady, full of joy and happiness. She brought and give so much to all around her. Tragically, she also leaves a little boy who, I am sure, will be taught by you and his father how a great, kind mother she was. It must be such a difficult time for you.
