February 15th, 1949 - October 3rd, 2020
A beautiful soul who lived an extra ordinary life and gave unconditional love to those whose lives she touched.
The world lost a great mother, a loving wife, a loyal friend and a beautiful soul.
With profound and unbearable sadness, our loving mother, Ninfa Herico Acosta, joined her Creator in the morning of October 3rd, 2020 after a long and courageous fight with cancer and desmoid tumor. She was 71 years old.
A true epitome of unconditional love and sacrifice, she emptied herself in service to her family. She left her career as a corporate secretary to be a home maker. She was an extra ordinary mother who never complained and did everything she could, even with very little means, to make sure we were well-fed, and sent to a private school. She mastered and modelled the values of patience, perseverance and forbearance while facing hardships in her married life – values that till today we, her children, struggled with.
Mom had a big heart – she built many lasting friendships out of her generosity in comforting those who were troubled by lending her ear and giving advises. She was also a joy to be with who loved to laugh a loud and tell jokes till the crack of dawn.
No word is enough to quantify and describe how great she was as a wife, a mother, a sister, a friend and most of all as a human being. As we are writing this obituary, we can’t help but tear up for we miss her presence very dearly.
She is a beloved wife to her husband of 37 years, Eduardo, a loving mother to her two children, Ma. Gracia Carmella and Edryan, cherished grandmother to Gabriel and Miguel, a dear sister to Nayda, Raul, Nelia and Rustom, a kind mother-in-law to Apple and Arnie Carlo Marquez.
A celebration of our mom’s life will be held on October 8th, Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, 11 a.m. Her interment is at Forest Lake San Juan La Union, 1 p.m.
Flowers are welcome and other monetary contributions can be sent to Ma. Gracia Carmella Acosta, Brgy Disso-or Bauang La Union.

May you rest in paradise, peacefully ❤️

There are no words to express my deepest sorrow , my heart aches receiving this news of your passing. Dad,Mom,Kuya Ben and Kuya Rolly were all gone and now YOU my beautiful sister inside and out. I look up to you and adore you. All our childhood recollections growing up were full of life in a loving environment. Our parents were focused in giving us education and we’ve accomplished that where everyone helped to attain. I went abroad in 1975 and you came to visit me in 1980/1981 and you helped me raised my 2 sons Chris & Brian. You went back home to get married to Kuya Ed the most wonderful person and built a strong family and gave you Carmella & Ryan. The next time i saw you was 1988 the Golden Wedding Anniversary of our parents. We had hours and hours of long distance conversations regarding immigration papers of our family. You told me not to petition you for you were planning to immigrate in Canada where Kuya Ed’s family will relocate. I just wish that you’re with us . Anyway you did a great hob raising your children and look at them now they are accomplished and creating a future of their own. Ate Ninfa thank you for everything you’ve done for me and my family. I will be forever thankful and forever in my heart. You will be missed terribly however I know for sure that you will be around watching us. Now that you have joined our creator, give hugs to our parents and brothers for me. Ate Ninfa is a wholesome person with great beliefs and values, god fearing and a dignified lady. The most loving sister, mother & wife. We are all at a loss with your passing. This will be a GOODBYE for now and we will see you someday in paradise. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH SISTER AND I DO MISS YOU. With all my thanks and gratitude and so proud to be your sister. . May the eternal light shine upon you and may you rest in peace. AMEN

A peacemaker, faithful servant and a loving mother even to me whom she never delivered as her own. That little time we had in Singapore where we shared laughs, hugs and light stories together is enough for me to thank God for giving me the pleasure of meeting another woman of His amazing favor and grace. You radiated kindness which moved every person you encountered to be the same and your faith in God is something I will always remember. We will miss you Mama Nimfa...
