Nicholas Blair Tulloss (1996–2025)

Nicholas Blair Tulloss was born on February 29, 1996 (a leap year baby) and passed away on May 20, 2025, at the age of 29.

He is survived and deeply loved by his mother, Shannon Tulloss, father Tom Tulloss, and brother Tom Tulloss. He is also cherished by his grandparents, Bill and Shirley Powell Blair, as well as his aunts and uncles (Aunt Ginger, Uncle Randy, Aunt Jenny, Uncle Donnie, Uncle Rod, and Aunt Mel), and his cousins (Timon, Kaleigh, Zoe, Preston, Blake, Kiera, and Carson). He is remembered with love by his extended family on his father’s side and by many lifelong friends who became like family. He is being held tight by his Grandma Shirley in Heaven.

Nick’s journey began in foster care, and we were blessed to become his forever family. From the very beginning, he had a special way about him. His life touched so many, and his loss is a deep wound we will never fully heal from.

He grew up in the SCV and could often be found at the skate park, playing with his precious childhood pups Betty, Sabrina, and Starla, or teaching himself to play the ukulele. He spent childhood summers and winters in Tehachapi, adventuring outdoors with his brother and cousins.

Nick was rarely without a skateboard or bicycle; he had a fearless athleticism that allowed him to hop on and ride just about anything with wheels. On snow, he was equally adept, snowboarding with a natural skill few ever achieve. He worked at ski resorts in Mammoth, Lake Tahoe, and Colorado during his late teens and early twenties. (If you’re curious, Nick would say Colorado has the best snow, Lake Tahoe the best views, and Mammoth the best people.) He once called his mom during his first season in Mammoth and said, “I’m having the best day of my life.”

Nick had the gift of gab and a quick wit that could make anyone laugh within a minute of beginning a conversation. He was also a gifted chef with creativity in the kitchen that could only be described as a God-given talent. He loved to cook, travel (especially to Mexico), and enjoy good company, good food, and a good view. His adventurous spirit, big heart, and undeniable charisma meant he truly marched to the beat of his own drum.

We are heartbroken and cannot understand why his bright flame burned out so soon. We believe we will only know the answer when we stand before the Lord God Almighty, Creator of the Universe, and ask Him ourselves. And when that day comes, we are certain Nick will be there to greet us, ready to show us around eternity, serving the perfect avocado toast topped with microgreens, and, with a grin, inviting us to join him on the slopes for a ride.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at The Backyard, 26509 Golden Valley Road, Santa Clarita, CA 91350 from 4:00-6:00 PM. Those who knew and loved Nick are welcome to join us to share memories, laugh, cry, and remember his remarkable life. If you would like to attend, please email nicktulloss@gmail.com for details.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Nick’s honor to FosterAll, a nonprofit dedicated to helping children in foster care find loving, permanent families.
