It’s 2 years since we bid farewell to you. I hope your family are doing well although I know it’s impossible to fill the space you left in their hearts. I just want to say we miss you from Vietnam and blessed you have you part of the team.

Words cannot describe how deeply sorry and empty I feel with the sudden departure of Nic. Nic, was my mentor since I started to work at De Heus over 7 years ago in 2012. From the very start I was amazed with the passion and hard work that Nic you put on everything you did. You stayed positive in every situation and kept telling me “Think in solutions and not in problems”. You were such a source of inspiration for all of us and so full of energy. You were one of a kind, and will be remembered in my heart forever as the kind, warm, honest, helpful and energetic person you were. Here a picture celebrating the opening of our Aqua R&D center in Vinh Long, Vietnam on the 4th May 2017. One of many achievements in Aqua we got to celebrate together. We were not ready for your departure, we were still learning a lot from you. Your guidance and presence will be missed tremendously but in our hearts you left special marks and we hope we can continue with your legacy and can make you proud wherever you might be. My deepest condolences go out to all your family, Bep, Wil, Anne, Daan and Sofie, I hope you find the needed strength and love in this difficult times of grieving and I hope you cherish all the great memories.

Nic, we shared the passion for Vietnam and our job. In 2008 we started to support our company in Vietnam. Together we went. You did an enormous job and contributed to the succes of our company. In later years I got to know you better and respect was growing for the lead you took. Not only in your job. You took us with you to your "Hutje op de Hei" (Your Cottage on the Moorland) to inspire teams in cooperation and introduce you to your lovely family. With all your positive energy you showed how to contribute to community in a broader perspective. We will never forget the inspiration you gave for us. Enjoying life and passionate working. The photo reminding you is taken 20th of October 2019 in your favorite beerbar in Ho Chi Minh city which you showed to us. One of nice memories you left. From nearby I felt the sadness you left in Vietnam among colleagues after passing away. In the pension speech for you Gabor named them "Nics' Angels". I am sure the angels will stand by you in your stairway to heaven. Bep, Wil, Clair, Anne, Daan and Sofie you can be proud on the memories and inspiration Nic left. I sincerely hope beautiful memories will strengthen you to cope with his loss.

Nancy

The last time I met Nic on 11th Jan 2020 in Vinh Phuc. Nic hugged, patted my shoulder and asked me: Hi, Nancy! Long time to see you. Everything Ok with you? I am OK, Nic. What about you? Great! It was the habit every time we met. Nic was like a Father, always encouraging and cheering me. Nic said that Nic will visit Hai Phong factory next March and will support me with Aquatic nutrition. I was really shocked and sad to hear that Nic had passed away. We had the last chance to meet Nic before he could return to his family. Rest in peace, Nic! We all love and miss you a lot. A big warm hug to Nic’s family!

Nic, are enjoying your new life? It is difficult for me to accept that you are far away from us. But I believe that no matter where you are, you will always be loved and respected by others because of your energy, your kindness, your care and your positive attitude. Thank you for inspiring me, my dear friend. A big warm hug to your family. Julia
