Natalie Marguerite Davison
August 2nd, 1952 - July 19th, 2023
August 2nd, 1952 - July 19th, 2023
Natalie Marguerite Davison lost her battle with leukemia on July 19, 2023. She is warmly remembered by her son Ross, sisters Angela Brecht, Martina Fox, Gabrielle Davison, and brothers Carter, Christopher, and Damian Davison.
Natalie was born in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania on August 2, 1952, the oldest daughter of Dr. Carter NIchols Davison and Mrs. Gloria Angela Davison. As a teen, Natalie enjoyed the works of J.R.R. Tolkein, the Beatles, and Hieronymus Bosch. She graduated from Marian Catholic High School in Tamaqua, PA in 1970, attended Syracuse University, and earned a degree in Biology from Rosemont College in Bryn Mawr, PA. After briefly pursuing employment in Pennsylvania, Natalie relocated to Fresno, California to work as a histologist.
In Fresno, Natalie worked for the St. Agnes Medical Center for more than forty years, often single-handedly running the Histology Department. Her work was vital to the hospital’s mission, and Natalie performed duties ranging from laboratory diagnosis of disease to hands-on autopsy work. Even following her retirement in 2022, Natalie continued to perform histology work for Dr. Gregory Rainwater of Fresno. In her personal life, Natalie was active in her community, attending bible study at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Fresno, book club, and supporting local charitable organizations. Her friends remember her generosity, cutting wit, and devotion to dessert. Natalie loved nature and took advantage of Fresno’s proximity to Yosemite National Park to hike and explore. She was a lover of plants and birds; she will be especially missed by her dogs, Arrow and Cammi, and her rescue cat, Marco.
Natalie’s family in Pennsylvania will memorialize their beloved mother, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend on September 23, 2023, at 11:00 am, at Christ Church - White Church - 132 Church Road, Barnesville. There will be a light luncheon immediately following the service in the adjacent church hall. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Natalie’s name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, https://www.lls.org/ or Wings Advocacy, Fresno https://www.wingsfresno.org/.
