Mykel Hammer

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness; we announce the sudden passing of Mykel "Mike" Hammer of Regina, SK on January 10, 2021. Mykel was born November 15, 1971 in Vernon, BC, to Martyn and Olivia Hammer. The older of 2 boys, Mykel spent most of his childhood in Vernon until his parents re-located to Saskatchewan in 1985. Mykel and his family ultimately settled in Regina in 1986. Upon graduating high school in 1989, Mykel took employment with the Saskatchewan government provincial parks service where he worked for nearly 18 years. In 2007 Mykel left the government and went to work for a close friend in the heavy equipment rental market. In 2010 Mykel solely assumed the business and worked very hard maintaining relationships with his customers. He was proud to be his own boss. His life was a mixture of hard work, good fun and family. His love of camping and the outdoors remained a passion throughout his life, spending most of his free time at various campgrounds and lakes throughout the prairies. Mykel is survived by his daughter Stella (Junior) Louis and brother Werner. A caring father, brother and son, he will be missed by all. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA)
