In Loving Memory of Glynn Woods

Glynn was born in Fort Worth on October 28, 1959, the youngest child in a family of five children, to Dorothy and J.D.Woods. The family moved to Garland, Texas, in 1967 where he attended school and spent the majority of his life.  When he was at Garland High School, he was a record holder for Track and Field Pole Vault where he was a 1978 graduate.

After graduation he followed in his father’s footsteps and worked at Texas Instruments.  He was employed at TI for thirty-five years in many capacities:  a Semiconductor Specialist I,  a Wafer Lab Specialist and a Computer Operations Specialist.  He then worked at The Kraft Heinz Company from 2016-2022.  Lastly he rounded out his work career at Keurig Dr. Pepper from 2019-2024.

Glynn loved video gaming, playing the blues on electric guitars and camping trips with his life-long friends.  He was quick to laugh and share his kind heart.  His signature look was a head of long, wavy brunette hair which made his guitar playing look even cooler.  He lived his life on his terms.  Glynn was at a grocery store on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2024, where he collapsed and never regained consciousness.  He was 65 years old.

A memorial to honor his life will be on Wednesday, March 5th, at The Summit at 207 Security Court in Wylie at 2:30pm.  We will honor Glynn with music and memories, so please come to share his stories.  The family requests donations in his name to pet rescues and shelters in lieu of flowers.

He is predeceased by his parents, Dorothy and J.D.Woods, his brother Jeff Woods and sister Pat Scarborough.  He is survived by his sisters, Debra Gillis and Mary Ann George (husband, Scott).   He leaves behind a multitude of cousins, nieces and nephews.  He also had a wonderful group of close friends.  He left us far too soon and will be forever missed.
