I first met aunty Mbongo in the nineties at her big brother's funeral in Victoria. You could see the love this very beautiful woman had for her family and mankind in general. She didn't know us however she was so kind. Rest well, sweet woman of virtue.

There are no giants in the promised land Auntie Mbongo used to say, there are no giants in the promised land. For years, I marveled at this saying. The children of Israel thought the promised land was impossible to conquer because the men looked like giants. Auntie would say, it's how you look at it. Some see a promised land, others giants, but a few see possibilities. That stuck with me that your perspective is everything, and the biggest giant is yourself. Auntie you have walked that road to the promised land. You have laid claim of that which will transcend generations to come. In the wilderness you labored and sacrificed, so future generations will make it to the promised land. Your work is done. You have fought a marvelous fight and kept the faith. It's our time now. The generations of Queens and Kings you have created are geared to finish the race--holding on to your memories. Till we meet again in the promised land! Rest in His Bosom. Dr. Samuel Nokuri

RIBUTE To MUM The Lord our protector Ps 121 We look to the mountains, where Will our help come from? Our help will come from the Lord, who made heaven and Earth. He will not let us fall, Our protector is always awake. Our protector never dozes or sleeps. Our Lord will guard us. He is by our side to protect is. The sun will not hurt us by day nor by night. The Lord will protect us from all danger and will keep us safe. He will protect us as we come and go now and forever. Yes Mami Iyas, as fondly., called, when I received a call on this day 26 of match that it has happened, we saw another story in our lives. We lost the foundation plillar in our lives and become complete orphans. The vacuum that your demise has left on our minds is unbearable. But when we recalled that '' there is time for everything (Ecc 3:1). We know our help will come from you alone, God, who will guide our coming and going as you have always been doing. One is but sure that we are aware that you rest in the bossom of the Lord were we shall meet to part no more. I am honored to say a few words about Auntie Mbongo, my namesake. She was cheerful, fun-loving and full of life. As a child I remember her visits during which she planted the seed of the importance of Education. In my early Teen years, she exposed me to my first Camp away from home. I gained so much insight into the intricacies of dealing with Teenage challenges and learning more about myself. As I got older my aunt always made an effort to stay involved in my life. My visits with her when I came home was consumed by her determination to make sure that we continue the Legacy of acquiring higher education standards and make sure the grandchildren do same. My admiration for her passion as a community leader and representing the average citizen in our culture makes me so proud of her and the lasting impact she's had and left with us. I will miss my aunt's smile, positive attitude about life, and aspirations for me and my children. She was an incredible aunt and my children have been overwhelmed by her educational and career achievements. She will be dearly missed. Sincerely, Mbongo in NJ.

Heyyyyy....... It is not true. Can some body wake me up? I am dreaming. Aunty, the groundnut sauce and liver is ready. "Where are you", this was not part of our deal. I went on an errand only for me to hear that you are gone. Who will approve the work, who will take the glory, who will hug me when I return? Who will call me Mr Jude? Who will tell me sweet stories, who will eat the groundnut sauce and liver? Who will I call mother? Who will give me secret counsel of life? Iya, it's not fair. Another call could do like in 2019. Mother you have left me all alone in this world. Just as you have always wanted and I promised, I will always keep the flag of the Nokuri's flying high. Sweat mother I love you but your departure has created a vacuum which cannot be filled. Good bye Mama. Your boy Mr Jude
