Mike Papa
October 19th, 2020
October 19th, 2020
Mike Papa passed away on October 19, 2020. He was the most loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Mike graduated college with a degree in Nursing and Philosophy. He was a former Cardiac Cath Lab Nurse, later transitioning into IT support for medical equipment. He retired at the perfect age, allowing him to enjoy his later years of life doing what made him happy. Mike was an avid Scuba diver, having received his qualification in rescue diving XXXXXX. He enjoyed mentoring and taking his grandson on diving trips in the Bahamas. He also enjoyed taking live-aboard diving vacations with his son in laws. Mike was a Disney World fanatic, always visiting multiple times a year with his wife, Marsha, and bringing along his grandsons whenever possible. He loved roller coasters, especially Space Mountain, ones that utilized Linear Magnets, and ones that were "so smooth". Mike also enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, building Star Wars and Star Trek scale models, integrating technology into his home wherever possible, and being a modern day MacGyver. He was an avid world traveler, visiting places such as Dubai, Australia, and Hong Kong with Marsha. Mike is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marsha, his sister Barbara, his daughters Jill, Jamie and Josie, his grandsons Braeden, Jack, and Zain and his granddaughter Lucy. He will be remembered for his sharp mind, kind spirit, caring nature, cheesy jokes, and desire to make everyone feel loved and appreciated. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: American Heart Association National Parks Scuba Diving
