Mike Line

Vic and I first met Mike walking our dog at The Cloisters. Leo, our little mutt, saw Phoebe from a distance and franticly pulled on his leash until we got close enough for him to greet her. With the true distain that only a very big dog can have for a much smaller but very enthusiastic pup, she looked at him with an expression that said….“Who are you and why would I care to sniff you? I don’t think you’re as big and my front paws, and you are rather boring with all you jumping and wiggling.” This was our first meeting and we all laughed at Leo’s attempts to get Phoebe’s attention and chatted about our dogs for some time. After that we would see him often always with the Fabulous Phoebe in tow walking the park and enjoying the day. We grew fond of both of them. Mike was so interesting and lovely to talk to with his quiet demeanor and warm smile. He made conversation easy and had so many things to say about life and our mutual interests. He was a gentle soul and a good old fashioned gentleman. He was intelligent, kind and a joy to know. We will miss seeing him out and about. Victor and I send our deepest condolences to his family and other friends. Losing people is part of the life we all lead, but it is never easy. We both feel cheated that we did not get the opportunity to know him better. We are so happy that the Fabulous Phoebe is in a safe and loving home with Sally and Robert and we know that Mike is too. Again, our sincere condolences to Mike’s family and friends on the loss of this lovely, kind and special man; He will be missed.
