My uncle Michael is a unique soul. His sensitive nature enabled him to express his craft of floristry and art to levels as can be attested by the many kind comments here. As much as is mentioned about his passion for floristry, he is equally celebrated for his humanity. He expresses that same sensitivity towards people the cared about and love. I am thankful to have had the privilege of spending some time working and living with him. I am grateful to have him as family. Prior to the pandemic, we spoke about him relocating to Bali and he was looking forward to it. Perhaps a small wooden house in my yard... It was a month or two ago that I got a call from him at an odd hour of the morning. He called and just said "I love you". Out of concern, I ask if he was ok. He had had a moment he thought he was going to die in a dream. Sadly those were the last three words I shouted over the phone as the nurses took the phone away from him. They were about to intubate him then. It was so hurried and I am not so sure if he heard me, but I find comfort that I have had the chance to tell him so on a few occasions. But it is never enough is it?
