Michael John Lewis

Michael J. Lewis, 59, of Parkersburg, passed away Jan. 13, 2020, at Camden Clark Medical Center from pneumonia. He was born Aug. 30, 1960, in Parkersburg, son of the late Donald H. Lewis and Caroline R. Hayes Lewis. He was a 1978 graduate of Parkersburg High School. He worked at Foodland, Bill Dunning Motors and then spent nearly 28 years at DuPont until leaving in September 2017. He is survived by his wife, Carla Adams, step-daughter Elizabeth Adams of Cleveland, sisters Barbara Lewis and Patty Carpenter (Gary) of Vienna, brother Tim Lewis of Parkersburg and many nieces and nephews. Mike loved to have a good time hosting many parties for his friends. He enjoyed working in his yard. He was a runner for many years, participating in dozens of half marathons and eight marathons. He claimed running was his “fountain of youth. ” Mike spent the last 2 1/2 years living with frontotemporal dementia and ALS. His family would like to thank TLC In Home Care for providing a caring companion, Josh Dietz, for the last 16 months. And thanks Amedysis Hospice Care for its support and services over the last few months. A private cremation will take place at Mid-Ohio Valley Cremation Society. A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at a later date.
