Michael A Knight, 61 of Parkersburg, WV, passed away on Feb. 2, 2024 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on Sept. 15, 1962. He was the son of the late Kenneth Knight and the late Connie Buffington.

Mike graduated from Parkersburg South High School in 1980. He spent many years working at Century Aluminum and most recently at Chemours. Mike was a member of Fairlawn Baptist Church. Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his 2 new grandsons whom he just adored. Football season was a big part of Mikes life. He absolutely loved watching his son Logan play. He spent countless evenings sitting along the sidelines watching practice and enjoying games. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and archery. Later in life he had come to enjoy fishing the most and out of that he came to enjoy rod building. Mike always looked forward to his New York fishing trips with his best friend Kevin and his son Logan. He also loved his yearly family trips to the Outer Banks spending time with family, playing cornhole, and fishing.

Mike always bragged on his children. Over the years he has stated many times, Ashley has a caring heart and is always thinking of others, Logan was born a bull. Bulled his way through everything and never knew any fear, and Makenzie was born smiling and has never stopped. She always thinks everyday is the best day ever.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Selena Knight: children Ashley(Jeremy) Hunt, Logan Knight and Makenzie Knight, two grandsons Hudson and Dawson Hunt. Two bothers Eric(Sharie) Knight and Jamie Knight and two sisters: Cherie(Rocky) Roark and Tina(Bob) Cook, and aunt Kathy Farnsworth and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Michelle "Missy" Collins and his aunt Ginny Hornbeck and an uncle Steven Hornbeck.

A memorial will be held on Sat. Feb. 10, 2024, with visitation from 1-2 with services to follow at 2pm at Fairlawn Baptist Church, 215 Fairlawn Dr. Parkersburg with Pastor Kyle Neal officiating along with close family friend Eric Clark speaking as well. Mike has requested half of his ashes be spread in the Niagara River and the other half at the tip of the Hatteras Island.

In lieu of flowers the family will be accepting donations to put towards remaining debts.

One of the greatest friends of my lifetime. The best man at my wedding. One of the smartest men I have known. If he wanted to challenge himself he would not only achieve that goal yet exceeded it. Many many long days in the woods and on the water with him has not only left me with great happy memories but more importantly made me a better man. I pray I treated his sister with the honor she deserved until the end. I wish I coulda seen them...that first hug in heaven. Love ya Brother.

So sad to see that Mike has passed. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family, of whom he often spoke. I worked with Mike at Chemours. He had a great sense of humor, and had knowledge and experience that made him a real pleasure to work with. His humility kept us entertained - "I always move in a slow mosey." RIP Mike!
