Rene and I have known Mike for over 40 years. Boy did we have some fun times though out our teenage years. Enjoying car shows, river trips, & nightclubs. One funny memory that I’ll never forget is Mike & Rene would pretend to be handicap walking with terrible limps while out at the nightclub, so they could go in front of the line to use the bathroom. Of course they were pretty drunk! Lol Another memory is when Mike tripped my twin sister Tishy. We had all stopped for dinner on our way back from Magic Mountain. When she was walking back from the restroom he stuck out his foot and she went flying down the restaurant aisle. She was so embarrassed and mad at him. We all thought it was funny! He loved to have a good time. Mike will truly be missed.

Mike, We are so heartbroken that we will not have you here on earth to enjoy your silly humor, your (threatening) parenting skills, “Mikayla you are this close to getting a spanking” to which Mikayla responded “How close, Daddy?” which instantly cracked you up! Your vast knowledge of “who-does-what” in the world of cars, be it “Who can rebuild my Chevy truck’s engine?” or texting him from a dealership, “Is this a fair price for my new car purchase,” or “Who do you recommend to remove a scrape from my new car while backing out of my garage?” 🙄 Through our tears of sorrow, we still smile at all your shenanigans, your kind heart, always wanting to help others in their time of need, or your concern for their well being. Our only consolation is that you are now in a place with no pain, no discomfort, and are basking in God’s Glory. Mike, you were a blessing in every life you touched. We will always watch over Mikayla, the sweet goddaughter you blessed us with. We will forever remember you and love you always. The pics are a throwback to another life you shared with the Murillo family. Know that you were like a son to our dad, Robert. Bernie & Carmen Moyeda

I’m so sad to hear this news. Mike was a special person . He was Funny, a hard worker , and always positive . A true pleasure to work with and see every day. I had the pleasure of working with Mike for about two years and daily for about a year or so at Pedder during the pandemic. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. I can still see his great smile and laughing out loud with him at the stupid shit that goes on. He will be missed .

Mike Gandy — Victory Won Today we celebrate the life and victory of Mike Gandy. Mike fought cancer with courage, faith, and perseverance. And while we often think of victory as staying here, the truth is this: Mike didn’t lose his battle—he won it. He was healed in the most complete and eternal way possible. The Word tells us, “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” Mike stepped out of pain, struggle, and limitation, and into wholeness, joy, and the presence of Jesus. Cancer did not get the final word—Christ did. We rejoice knowing that Mike now stands fully healed, fully restored, and fully alive in Heaven. No more treatments. No more weakness. No more suffering. Just victory. His testimony didn’t end here—it was completed there. Well done, faithful warrior. You got healed. Forever. 🙏🕊️
