Michael J. Brennan

Michael shared with everone he met his optimism of hope. Two years ago I moved into the Independent Community where he lived. He brought a great deal of service and humor to our residents on the second floor. A very important contribution was the creation of a list of residents who were willing to help other residents with rides. He spent a lot of time gathering the information and creating a very clear format for it. Sometimes we were at the same table for dinner. He often shared something humorous that happened to him that day or had observed. His humor was greatly enhanced by his brilliant mind. Not everyone here drives. Michael helped fellow Catholics get to church in what became to be known as the Catholic Taxi. A stop at a donut shop after church was something he enjoyed. He was well supported by his Carolina Bay Community. When I moved here there was already a list of his friends in place who were willing to help him get to a hospital if he was ill or there was a possibility of organs being available. He also found rides to his treatments from people in the community when he requested them. May his family and friends take away from these Memorials a clear understanding of how much Michael was loved, admired and appreciated. I am stunned that he was taken from us so soon. Lives at Carolina Bay were greatly enhanced because he lived here. My deepest sympathy to his sons and all family and friends who morn the loss of his life. May God continue to watch over Michael!
