1 Corinthians 13:4-7, Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud... It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Michael Joseph Argano, age 79, of Brooklyn, New York, passed away on August 21, 2026. Born on January 4, 1947 in the city of Brooklyn, he was the son to the late Michael Argano and Rose Argano. He is survived by his loving son and daughter, Michael Argano and his wife, Kaitlyn Gutkes-Argano, Melissa Argano-Ciocio and her husband, John Ciocio, and by his grandchild, Adalynn Ciocio, and his siblings, his brother, Sal Argano, his sister, Annette Minafo, including his nieces and nephews, Michael, Kim, Lana, Lisa, Sal Jr., Tara, and Gina. He was predeceased by his sister, Susan Schlactus and her husband, Bobby Schlactus, and his brother-in-law, Vincent Minafo, and sister-in-law, Sharon Argano.

Michael worked as a Master Butcher for over 40 years in his hometown in Brooklyn. He had a pasion for music and was an incredible drummer who also loved to dance with his most favorite dance being the Twist. Being on a boat fishing was Michael's calming place and what he enjoyed doing the most.

Michael was known for his love for the Lord, his kind heart, generosity and loving spirit. He brightened every room he entered and was the most entertaining with his hysterical humor. He always had a joke to tell that would make an entire room belly laugh.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and beautiful memories. His love, warmth, and guidance will remain in our hearts forever. Michael was deeply loved by everyone who knew him and he will be missed beyond measure.

To help preserve his legacy, we would be deeply grateful for any stories, feelings, or photos you would like to share of Michael.

I knew Michael since I was 11 years old. He was dating my sister Roseann and I’ll never forget the first time that he walked into the house. We were excited to meet him since we heard so much about him from Roseann. We lived on 21st St. at the time and he walked into the house with that beautiful big smile on his face and his happy loving energy. He brought presents for all of us & my present was an adorable, small, stuffed green whale! . 🐳 From that moment on, we were blessed with the love, happiness and caring that Michael brought into our family. He was always there to listen to us whether it was to offer advice, encouragement, compassion- you name it he was supportive in all of the above. Most importantly, he made us laugh! Who could forget Michael holding up his arm and shouting out loud, “ALRIGHT!” 💪🏼 lol , we all loved that when he shouted out these words with such enthusiasm! He lit up the room & everyone that was in it ! A few of the other words( some that he devised )or sentences that he used to say and I’ll never forget were: “SUMANYE(soo-mon —yay), & “ You never know you know you know you never know!” Michael always had a good story to tell us about years ago when he was younger and the adventures that he encountered. Boy were they interesting and always caught my attention, and of course, made me laugh. He also was the one to tell me that there was a song titled “Susan” from many years ago, and he would sing it to me - it was from the Buckinghams- (Susan, looks like I’m losing….). 🙂🎶 I am grateful for all of these memories. Michael had an unforgettable voice and I will always hear him either singing the above song to me, cracking a joke or shouting out “ Alright!” he was a good man and he will be missed dearly. I love you Mike., Thank you for your love and kindness throughout the years. ❤️ Rest in peace. 🌻🕊️🥁🎶

I’ll always remember Cousin Michael as being so kindhearted and happy. It didn’t matter when or where I saw him—whether it was at a family gathering, a wedding, or a funeral—he always greeted me with a warm hug and a big smile. He always had something kind and positive to say. When my mom passed away, I remember him sitting with me toward the back of the room at the funeral home. He held my hand, told me stories about her, and reassured me that it was okay to cry. I will never forget the comfort and kindness he showed me during one of the hardest moments of my life. That is the kind of person Cousin Michael was. He made people feel loved just by being himself. I will always be grateful for that memory and will miss his hugs, his smile, and his kind heart.

I’ve known Melissa and her family for almost 30 years, and I’ll always remember her dad Michael as a genuinely kind hearted person. He was warm, funny, creative, a little eccentric in the best possible way, and always welcoming. He had this way of making people feel comfortable being themselves, and there was never any judgment or negativity about him. He was kind, accepting, and always seemed to find a way to keep things light. Mike was also a great drummer, and I think that fit him in more ways than one. Like any good musician, he knew how to improvise, adjust, find the rhythm again, and keep going. Life threw plenty at him, but he always seemed to roll with it, get back up, and keep moving forward without losing his sense of humor or his spirit. His faith was also an important part of who he was, and I think it gave him a strength, hope, and sense of purpose that carried through the way he lived and treated others. My heart goes out to all who loved him. Rest in peace, Big Mike. We’re all gonna miss you.

I knew Michael since I was a teenager when I first dated his sister in law Susan. He was always very nice to me and funny. He had a good heart & would help anybody . There’s one story that always comes to mind and makes me laugh. Susan & I were hanging out with Roseann & Michael, the kids were asleep and it was quite late. It was time for me to go home. It was freezing out. It must’ve been December or January. Michael offered to drive me home since they lived on 49th street and 17th Avenue & I lived on 17th Ave.near 74th St., so he figured it would be a straight run. So when we went downstairs to get in the car, his car would not go forward because he had trouble with the transmission, but being the kind of crazy guy that he was, rather than say I can’t take you home he said now come on get in. Let’s do it and he proceeded to drive me home backwards. Lol 😂 it was a little small yellow car. I don’t recall what make it was but it was amazing. It was very late. Thank God we didn’t get stopped by the cops and he just drove me home like that. I remember it was even icy outside.and then he went back home and he had to drive Home backwards.! This is just one story of the guy that I really loved. He was a good man and I’ll never forget him. May he rest in peace. ❤️

I met Michael back In the early 70’s. My band was practicing in my backyard and Michael was visiting our neighbors in the 2nd floor. He was hanging the window and listening and drumming on the windowsill. He started dating my sister Roseann not long after that and we became friends. He used to let me borrow his VW Bug. I think so that he could hang out with my sister longer. lol He always made me laugh with his quips and noises. 😊 He was always there to help whenever I needed him. He was my son’s Godfather. And I don’t doubt that he and my son are together in Heaven. I will always remember you Mike. And we will meet again someday!! Rest well. You were my Brother not a Brother Inlaw
