Obituary
Maurice Ashe was born on May 5,1965 to Hubert and Sylvia Ashe, in Bronx, New York. Out of 5 children, Maurice was next to youngest. Maurice fell asleep in death on February 25, 2021 at the age of 54.
Maurice attended Satellite Academy, but later received his G.E.D through the state of New York. Like his father and mother, Maurice was an extremely hard worker, with a strong work ethic and compassion for others. Maurice had a passion for helping others, which was evident in his work at various children’s shelters and medical centers. After graduating from The College of New Rochelle, with a degree in social work, Maurice was able to settle into his beloved career at Montefiore Hospital drug rehabilitation facility.
Out of all of Maurice’s accomplishments, his greatest one was being a father to his daughter Krystal Ashe. He strived to be there for every school dance, award ceremony, achievement, and milestone in her life. To truly know Maurice, was to know the love he had and shared with his daughter.
To be in the presence of Maurice, you could expect a really great time, accompanied with a day full laughter, through his many jokes and animated storytelling. Maurice had a laughter and smile that could light up any room.
Maurice Ashe is survived by his daughter Krystal Ashe, his mother Sylvia Ashe, sister Deirdre (Gregory) James, brother Hubert Lee (Kalivia) Davis, his 4 nephews, 4 nieces, 11 great nieces and nephews, and host of Family and Friends. Maurice was proceeded in death by his father Hubert Ashe, brother William Poole, and sister Crystal Poole.
