“One day you will read or hear that Billy Graham is dead. Don’t you believe a word of it… I shall have changed my address.” — Billy Graham
In Loving Memory of Mary V. McCarty
Mary V. McCarty, a beloved mother, grandmother, and matriarch, entered eternal rest at nearly 95 years old. Mary was a woman of strong faith in Jesus Christ, and her life reflected what she believed—service, compassion, and generosity. She didn’t have much in material things, but she gave what she had with a full heart, and she was known for being the kind of woman who would give the clothes off her back for someone in need. Mary was a mother to many, and her love extended far beyond her immediate household.
Mary loved Billy Graham, cherished her “Kissy Bubba,” and took deep joy in her children, grandchildren, and the many generations that followed. Her legacy is one of faith, family, and a life poured out for others.
Mary is survived by her sisters, Louise and Anne; her devoted son and caregiver of the past 14 years, Johnny McCarty; her son Fredrick (Frederick) McCarty; her daughters Sharon McCarty and Margaret “Reds” McCarty; her grandchildren; and countless great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Scripture: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” — Acts 20:35
Billy Graham quote: “The greatest legacy one can pass on… is a legacy of character and faith.” — Billy Graham
