but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31
Mary Nanette Marcum, known affectionately as "Nanny," passed away on August 5, 2024, at the age of 81 in Canal Winchester, Ohio.
Born on December 12, 1943, she was the daughter of the late William Albert Adkins and Margie Lee Adkins. Nanny was also preceded in death by her sister, Debra Atkinson, and brothers, William and Clyde Adkins.
Nanny was the matriarch of her family, cherished for her boundless love and fierce protection of those she held dear. Her presence was a beacon of joy and generosity, always ready to lend a hand or offer a prayer. Known for her cheerful spirit and kind heart, Nanny's personality was truly larger than life. She held a special place in her heart for her nieces, Margie and Tammy, sharing countless joyful moments with them. Nanny also was affectionately cared for by niece Mindy. Nanny was surrounded by a loving family who will always miss her. Nanny's legacy is carried on by the many lives she touched, especially her adored nieces and nephews and their children, all of whom were her "babies." Her love and devotion knew no bounds, and she will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
A private service will be held at
Laurel Point Cemetery in Vanceburg, Kentucky, where Nanny will be laid to rest. Her memory will forever be cherished and her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Our beloved Matriarch is so incredibly missed, but her spirit will forever be with us. We shared a special bond, and I am so thankful. She was loving, kind, and passionate in her beliefs. I can only hope to one day be half the woman she was. I know that there was a great reunion when she arrived in Heaven.
