I just found out about MaryAnn passing and wanted to say what a lovely person she was. Funny and delightful in every way. She had spunk. I was lucky to have her in my board review classes back in 2010 when she was studying for her boards for CALE and NCCAOM licenses. A quick story she loved my class so much that she went and told her school that she wanted a refund for her schooling because I taught her so much more in 16 weeks. WOW right ,but that was MaryAnn. She will be missed and I am so sorry for everyone that knew her and your loss.

Hello Kind Friends and Family: Here are some pictures of Mary Ann and family in her early years. Thank you again for all your support. You are all so greatly appreciated.

I delivered Mary Ann’s mail in Santa Rosa from 1999-2001. She was always so friendly! She also inspired me to begin long distance running, which I continue to do to this very day. Many thanks for all the beginning tips Mary Ann! My thoughts are with the Weber family at this difficult time.

I’m so sorry to read of Mary Ann’s passing, My husband and I had the pleasure of working with her when she represented and sold wines we imported from New Zealand. She traveled with us to that beautiful part of the world many times, most memorably when she competed on the One Fly Fishing competition with Howard. Our days were always brightened when she stopped by the office (where she doted on our dogs!) and when she would join us for many dinners. Her story is one of inspiration and admiration. We cheered for her from a distance each time she traveled for another marathon. We also knew there would be another rescued dog visiting us when she returned. I tell her story often and will continue to do so. The included picture was on my husband’s desk until he died in June 2022. Condolences to family and friends. Mary Ann is a one-of-kind and I’m honored to have known her.

Before I pay homage to my friend I want to share a poem that helps me when I think of Mary Ann. It is called The Dash by Linda Ellis. I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on the tombstone from beginning to end. He noted first came the date of birth and spoke the following with tears. But he said what mattered most of all was the dash between the years. For the dash represents all the time they spent life on Earth. And now only those who loved them know what that little line is worth . For it matters not how much we own, the cars, the house, the cash. What matters is how we live and love, and how we spend our dash. So, think about this long and hard. Are there things you'd like to change? For you never know how much time is left that can still be rearranged. If we could just slow down enough to consider what's true and real, and always try to understand the way other people feel. Be less quick to anger and show appreciation more, and love the people in our lives like we've never loved before. If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile, remembering that this special dash might only last awhile. So, when your eulogy is being read with your life's actions to rehash, would you be proud of the things they say about how you spent your dash? Mary Ann's dash was a beautiful thing, such an interesting and dynamic person. Her interests and knowledge varied and honed. Her life and personality so layered with study and experiences, always surprising me with her depth of exploration. So determined to excel yet unpretentious about all her accomplishments. A fierce competitor, a woman of integrity and sound advice with strong beliefs. She had a wicked smart wit and sense of humor. Quick to laugh and share, always supportive, ever ready to offer help. It was mine and my family's good fortune to have been befriended by Mary Ann. If you can't tell we miss our friend. Our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones. Love and light, John and Sheila Markham
