Martika Chacon

Martika Rae Chacon, 36, of Taos, New Mexico, born on September 15, 1987, passed away on June 22, 2024. 

Martika loved to cook and made the most amazing meals. She loved to draw, and her talent was evident in her beautiful drawings.  

Everyone who knew her will remember her as having one of the kindest hearts ever. Martika loved the great outdoors and going camping. One of Martika's greatest accomplishments was her time spent studying at UNM for four years, in hopes of becoming an educator. She will be missed and loved by so many people. May her beautiful soul keep shining in heaven.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Leroy and Rosalie Chacon and 

Santiago and Dorothy Romero and sister, Vanessa Martinez.

She is survived by her husband, Juan Estrada Castillo, her parents, Leroy Chacon (Martha) and Marlene Romero, children, Adan Chacon Garcia, Jimena Chacon Estrada and Anthony James Pacheco, siblings, Isaac Chacon (Julianna), Ajia Gallegos, Jose Cordova (Meghaan Guynn), and Andrew Duran (Kayla), godparents, Gilbert and Sandra Montoya, and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, and friends. 

A special thanks to those who were kind and helpful to her. Also, to Rivera Funeral Home for helping us navigate through this challenging time.
