Forever in Our Hearts!
Martha J. Johnson, age 85, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2021 in Jupiter, FL. She is survived by her husband, Ronald L. Johnson, sister Shirley Koehler, daughter, Laura Graham, and sons, Philip Johnson, and Jay & (Sara) Johnson, son-in-law, Tim & (Deb) Graham , and 6 grandchildren, Stefanie Johnson, Andy Johnson, Brianna Pautz, Jarrett Eagan, Katie Burnett, and Trisha Johnson. She was preceded in death by her mother, Floy Mason, father, Fred Mason, and sister, Joyce Rausch. Martha was born on February 22, 1935 in Elgin, IL to Floy and Fred Mason, and was the youngest of 3 children. She attended school in Elgin and was at Abbott Junior High where she met her lifelong partner Ronald Johnson. Their first meeting was at the local ice skating rink, where afterwards he asked to walk her home and their romance blossomed. They married on October 16, 1954 and continued their journey together for nearly 70 years. After graduating high school, she maintained close relationships with a network of lifelong friends and classmates. She was a wonderful mother to her and Ron's 3 children and was a successful owner of the beauty salon, Magic Brush in Elgin, IL. After many years in the Midwest, she and Ron moved south in 1981 to retire from the cold winters and enjoy the warmer southern weather. Martha was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was lovingly referred to as Aunt Martha by many extended relatives and friends. She was a highly positive and energetic person, kind to everyone she met with an upbeat witty sense of humor. She enjoyed social events, loved to play cards along with competitive board games with her grandkids, and was an actively involved member of her church. She and Ron enjoyed traveling to many locations both in and outside the U.S., and Martha especially loved trips to Disney World with her grandkids. She was an avid animal lover and was passionate about her pets. She lived a life full of joy and brightened the lives of anyone who was blessed to know her.

I will miss Martha’s sweet smile. We enjoyed so many afternoon movies together. And many fine memories of her at Garden Club and playing Mah Jongg. She would say, I don’t remember how to play” and then she would win the next 3 games. Always in style and proper. A woman to really emulate. Love Always, Rosemary
