On most every day between our 4th and 8th birthdays - Markie, Johnnie and I (Paulie) could be found together in our tree forts, on a garage roof or maybe just walking the alleys like buddies did back then. Looking back, we were pretty fearless. The day before my family moved out, we were in my tree fort and we promised to be friends forever. It is amazing the bond of friends at such a young age. The visits became less frequent as the years have gone by. Whenever we did catch up though, I always appreciated it. I always enjoyed coming back to the neighborhood to visit. just drove by our houses last Tuesday and told my daughter stories about us. Getting the news on Friday was a shock. We lost Johnnie and now you. ou guys are missed. My daughter was born on your birthday. I will continue to raise a toast to your life every May 31. . Until we meet again my brother.
