Family, friends, golf buddies, business associates… it didn’t matter how Mark knew you – his greatest joy was to make you laugh. His personality was magnetic and he always left those he met with a reason to smile. Second only to his engaging personality was his talent as an athlete and a musician.
In high school, he quarterbacked the varsity football team and was captain of the basketball team. But his greatest love was baseball, where his extraordinary talent led to a full scholarship at University of the Pacific. Later on, Mark became an avid golfer, earning the title of Club Champion at Sunset Hills Country Club and qualifying for various SCGA Mid-Amateur tournaments.
Mark was also an accomplished musician – he could make a saxophone sing! He loved entertaining at parties and events. Most important to him was to offer his gift for music to Jesus. He played sax on worship teams at every church he attended over the course of 30 years.
Mark’s career in construction and restoration led to owning two companies: Pacific Restoration in Fresno and Casitas Construction in Southern California. In later years, he transitioned to working as an independent insurance adjuster.
Mark was always there to help his children and grandchildren whether it was a household project, coaching a sports team, or being a leader on the church youth retreats. He was a master on the grill and had a way of making friends feel welcome with his easy charm and positivity.
Without a doubt, what was most important to Mark was his love for Jesus Christ. His lasting legacy is the joy of the Lord that shined so brightly in his heart and in the way he lived his life.

Ron & I knew Mark in several ways: as a member of our church, a very talented musician, and an honest, dedicated businessman. We were blessed to have known such a good man. Our sympathy and prayers to his family.

It was a lot of fun growing up with cousin, Mark! When the families got together, the cousins always had a great time. We grew up learning to work; playing hard in basketball, football and baseball; there were excursions to watch the Giants or A's play; it was a great time to be growing up! We got to see Mark play baseball against Fresno State. With all the family building projects, the cousins got to pound nails and be the work crew. Some of the most memorable times was when we were playing stick ball on breaks. Our last conversation was about getting together and working on rebuilding homes. The family will miss you, Cuz! Love you!
