Mark Gaines

Mark and I were joined at the hip at Universal for 25 years. We helped form a triumvirate with Nikki Rocco that complemented our individual talents, flavored by our differences. In our work, Mark and I were soldiers, and I consider myself very lucky to have shared a foxhole with him. Mark was not a hugger, but he had a generous spirit and affable sociability. He loved his wife (“Trouble”), siblings and their children. I remember speaking at his retirement reception, borrowing from Frank Capra by referring to Mark as “the richest man in town”. I believe the same could be said of him wherever he lived. I’m enriched for having known him.
