"I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." - 2 Timothy 4:7

Mark spent his formative years in Washington, attending John Rogers Elementary School, Gault Junior High, and Lincoln High School before graduating from Henry Foss High School in 1982. Throughout his high school years, he was known for his athletic prowess as an accomplished football player. Following his passion for faith and service, he pursued divinity and ministry studies at Spokane Falls Community College and Gonzaga.

In 1990, Mark began what would become a remarkable 35-year career with Milgard Windows & Doors. Through hard work, determination, and a sharp mind, he advanced through more than five different positions within the company, starting out in the warehouse and ultimately retiring in 2025 as a highly respected testing and certification specialist.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mark’s true calling was his faith and his family. In the 1990s, he served faithfully as a minister, leading weekday evening Bible studies and officiating weddings. His spiritual foundation was unshakeable; he walked through life with a strong faith in God, firmly believing that whatever God had destined for him would truly be for him.

Mark was known for his playful spirit and patience. He was a master of cracking jokes, a passionate fan of Prince, a lover of cheesecake, and the creator of a legendary spaghetti. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: kicking back, watching sports, and traveling.

His legacy lives on through his beloved wife, Cecelia Caldwell; his children, Natasha (Solomon) Wyatt, Nadia Caldwell, Leander Carroll, and Nina Caldwell; and his cherished grandchildren, Hezekiah and Solomon. He is also survived by his siblings, Robyn, Norman, Rocky, Joy, Sandra, and Kim, as well as his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family members and friends who will miss his laughter and warmth. He is preceded in death by his father, Edward Venhoffen Caldwell, mother, Virginia Jones Caldwell, and older sister, Gail Caldwell.

At Mark’s request, no formal funeral services will be held. Instead, this space stands as his forever celebration of life—a digital memorial to honor the joy and love he brought into the world. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Mark Caldwell Memorial Fund. These contributions will directly support his children and grandchildren, both present and those yet to come, ensuring the future security of the family he loved so deeply.

Over the Rim e. Rocco Caldwell There—where white gulls cry above the surge, beyond the crash and churn of restless waves, the sun hangs low, a golden coin, half-spent, where earth dissolves into horizon’s haze. Past the warm, forgiving sand, the question lingers: What waits beyond? They ask it every day. Is there a gentler shore, a place for peace, a time untouched by sorrow or the fray? We guess, we wonder, we invent our songs, we send our prayers like messages in bottles. Still, the gray ships slip out, one by one, their prows slicing open the morning tide. No one aboard turns to the shrinking shore— their gaze locked forward, hungry for the line where time unspools, and the world gives way to something promised, never clearly seen. For only those with salt and scripture in their veins, true sailors, called to voyage by the wind, abandon earth’s assurance for the unknown. And when their journey yields at last to stillness, the sky will cradle a thin, trembling moon, turning the water to a pane of silver, and their worn clothes to robes of deepest blue, just before they vanish—over the rim.

A husband of strength, a father so dear,A brother, an uncle, bringing joy through the year.A cousin, and a brother in law to many, a friend from the start,You held all these roles with a generous heart. You guided our steps and you lightened our load,A constant companion along life's winding road. You gave us your wisdom, your patience, your grace,And no one can ever quite fill your embrace.Though miles now divide us and tears fill our eyes,Your spirit lives on in the earth and the skies. In every fond memory we tenderly hold,Your story remains, a great treasure of gold.We honor the laughter, the love, and the care, always.
