Marcos Vigil

Our beloved Marcos Allen Vigil passed away unexpectedly on May 23, 2024. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Geraldine and Allen Vigil, his grandparents Irene Martinez Stewart, and Bences and Fabiola Vigil. He was born on March 3, 1990 in Taos, NM and was the youngest and only boy of six children. He is survived by his five older sisters: Ariana (Paul), Jenina (Sean), Natalia (Jesse), Alicia (Jake), and Alanna (Damon), as well as cherished nieces and nephews: Briana (AJ), Evan, Adelina, Allen John, Sloane, Matilda, and Sebastian. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, who he loved dearly.

He will be remembered fondly as a sensitive soul with a heart of gold. A gentle giant, standing at 6’6”, who always gave the best hugs. Marcos loved the outdoors and found great joy in activities such as fishing, camping, skiing, and hiking. Like his mother, Marcos had a green thumb and took pride in the crops he cultivated with love and care. Marcos was a creative spirit in many ways, he was a gifted artist and painter and played bass and guitar. Though he did not have children of his own, Marcos adored spending quality time with his nieces and nephews, often taking them fishing or for walks in the acequias to look for frogs. He held a special place in his heart for all of God’s creatures, especially his beloved pets, Weezy and Dash. Marcos was strong in his Catholic faith and lived by the philosophy of loving kindness and compassion for others.

We will forever hold him close and take comfort in the faith that we will be reunited with him and our beloved parents in heaven.

Rosary will be held at San Fransisco de Asís Church Friday, June 7 at 9 AM. Mass to follow at 10 AM.
