Manuel Ocanas, 87, of Ranchos de Taos passed away September 12, 2009. Manuel was a lifetime musician who played with Big band Jazz and Latin Jazz bands in California and New Mexico. He is preceded in death by parents, Herman and Francisquita Ocanas, sisters, Mary Barela and Nellie Reyes, brothers, Eddie and Joe Acuna. He is survived by his wife, Mary F. Ocanas, children, Diego Ocanas, Tanya Ocanas y Vigil (Michael Veloy Vigil), Marcos Greg Ocanas, Dominic Ocanas, daughter in law, Valoura Trujillo, 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Rosary was recited on September 17, 2009 at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church. Funeral mass was held on September 18, 2009 at 10 AM at San Francisco de Asis Church.
