Lyle Knudsen Jr., "Junior," age 62, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026. Born in Brunswick, Ohio he and his family moved to Phoenix when he was young. He attended and graduated from Cortez High School, where he played football and discovered his passion for working on and repairing cars. He was married on September 3, 1983, to his wife, Marianne. Together they had three children whom he and his wife raised together. In 1991, he, his brothers, and father decided they would open an automotive repair business, Knudsen’s Auto Specialists. Their small family-owned shop quickly grew to multiple locations over the years. It was here that he earned a reputation in the community for being honest, reliable, and trustworthy. This integrity was the fire that kept his dedication to the community burning, even earning him awards and accolades in his industry. He loved what he did and he dedicated his life to it.Instilled in him by his father, it was always his belief that your word and your bond define who you are as a person. To him, a handshake was more than a greeting; it was a commitment. His rugged, larger-than-life persona was only outmatched by the size and warmth of his heart. His talents were many, specifically his attention to and love of family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. His passion, love, and devotion to his children was the joy of his life. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle Sr. and Charlotte; his wife, Marianne; and his brother, Chuck. He is survived by his Brother, Ron; his three children: Stephanie, Lyle III, and Andrew; his grandchildren: Ava, Charlotte, Sienna, and Stephen; and numerous nieces, nephews, with his partner of ten years Kari-anne and friends. There will be a private celebration of life held for close family and friends. It was Lyle's wishes that no funeral services be held. The family would like to thank everyone for their understanding and sincerest appreciation for all of your condolences.

my papa was truly one of a kind. the hardest working and most determined man to ever walk this earth. his kindness was boundless, touching the lives of everyone around him in the most genuine way. losing him leaves a hole that feels impossible to fill, and it’s hard to imagine life without his presence. i love him so much, and his memory will forever be a guiding light in my heart, reminding me of the goodness he embodied every day. the day he died, apart of me died with him, but the part that’s left of me will continue to live for him. this is one of the hardest pains I’ve ever had to deal with, but I’m so blessed to feel it because it means I was lucky enough to love him. he’s in Gods hands now, and i wouldn’t want it any other way. reast peacefully angel ❤️

First time I met Lyle was for a job interview at a diner on 35th Ave and Bell road We sat there for probably 2-3 hours drinking iced tea Lyle asked me after the interview if I drink beer I said yes he said well hell we should have done this interview a different place. That was always caring for his employees if you're down or whatever he try to pick you back up or help you whatever reason why you're down. If you needed something he was always willing to give it this is the way he was. We have done a crazy things over the 21 plus years that I have known him. Having a shop camp out to making chili burgers which I apologize for almost killing senior he love those burgers so much that he just couldn't stop eating them. To every day it was 5:00 somewhere We drank to when the supply was done and then heading to the bar and close that out get up the next day and start all over again. All in all Lyle was always helpful always courteous always outgoing and I will miss you my friend. Until we meet again on the backside I love you my friend.

The 1st time I met Lyle, I had made a mistake and had to make it right. How do you make it right with Lyle? A 18 pack of cold Miller Lite bottles. From that day a friendship was formed. Not only with him, but all of the Knudsen family. I was and still am very honored to say I know Lyle! Until we meet again my friend.
