Luke, I have so many fond memories of you and was looking forward to making many more. Unfortunately it seems I will only be able to talk to you and think about you until we meet again. Over these past several days I've looked at many photos of you throughout the time you shared with us. Most I've seen before but some brought new thoughts and memories as I reflected on who you are. Clearly someone that is a pleasure to be around. While you are Ray and Jens son and brother to all those girls (Maddie, Morgy, Mac, May-May and I dont know any other Ms' ) and Lance. Grandson, cousin, just kin etc. You were always your own man. Science projects (non newtonian fluids etc), surf fishing, or bass fishing, even helping me filet fish with a dull knife, to hiking, swimming, rock climbing, rafting, and jumping in the deep hole, without your helmet, I also distinctly remember getting the bjesus, scared out of me by the Wildman of the woods while sitting in the dark ..I could go on and on, I'm sure you remember, I do! While I always had a good time around you, one memory , tho not the most exciting was a special treat. I think it was traveling back from Wichita Kansas to central Missouri. It was just you and Alice and I in the car for several hours. It seemed we really got to know you better, not distracted or deferring to anyone else. (Parents, siblings or others). We played games, you sang (knowing every word to every song , reportedly due to traveling with your sisters) and we talked. It was such a pleasure to talk with you. You talked about, family, friends, travel, school, sports, and your plans. You didn't hesitate or remain silent in talking with old farts....made us feel good too. I will miss you my friend, until we meet again Love you, Uncle Bob

luke was always the most caring & kind hearted person. he was someone who you could always count on to cheer you up or make you laugh. luke had the most contagious smile and had the ability to light up a room as soon as he walked. there was definitely never a dull moment when he was around. luke was so loved, and will be very missed. Going into my new school in 5th grade i was worried that I wouldn't find a friend group even tho I had my cousin in the same grade I didn't want to hang out with her group of her friends then I met Luke and he introduced to the group of friends that I have today that include Francisco and Aiden. I remember then as the 3 amigos that were friends for the longest and it sucks to see it go to 2 now but he will be remembered #LLL

The memory of Luke is one that won’t be difficult to keep alive. He was one of the biggest personalities I’ve had the pleasure of teaching. Over the last few days I’ve heard nothing but how funny and energetic he was. How he was the light in the room. Every bit of that being true, Luke was the kid that made everyone smile. On the day of the promotion ceremony his friends came and asked for my favorite memories of Luke. My favorite were his one liners. I wish I’d written them all down. He was always so cool about dropping them and would casually walk away with a little head nod. I’d be shaking my head and laughing the whole time. I watched him bring his classmates together. It didn’t matter who it was, he was bouncing around the room and talking to anyone around. I think it only appropriate that one of our final memories of him be his connection to the lemurs and the laughter in that room. Luke, you were and are deeply loved and missed but your memory is one that will never leave us. You’ve left a mark on all of us. Love to your family.

Luke will always be remembered. He is one of the most lovable people I've ever met. He was such a funny and happy person. It's terrible that his life ended this soon. I'm sorry to everyone and especially the Walters family for your loss. He will be missed.
