Louis Irby

Louis Irby, 81, died peacefully at home in the company of his loving family on April 9, 2020 in Chicago, Illinois. He was born April 1, 1939 to Willie and Callie Irby in Sardis, Mississippi. He had three siblings that preceded him in death.

Louis had a love of horses and got a job as cowboy on a ranch in Mississippi during his teenage years. He left Mississippi in 1965 and moved to Chicago, Illinois where he switched his love of horses for his love of cars and worked as an auto mechanic for decades until his health forced him to retire. He never got rid of his signature cowboy hat and wore it frequently. While in Chicago he met the love of his life, Ella Kinsey. It was a love that blossomed from many years of friendship and lasted 35 wonderful years.

Louis is survived by his wife Ella Kinsey, two step-children Wannetta Kinsey and Jonah Kinsey, Jr., three step-grandchildren Cheradin Kinsey-Connaway, Wisdom Kinsey, and Kyle Miller, and many other family members and friends.
