Lily Lalin Kang
September 27th, 1938 - October 5th, 2020
September 27th, 1938 - October 5th, 2020
Our beloved Lily peacefully passed after a short illness at Middlemore Hospital in Auckland on the 5th of October, 2020.
Lily’s was a life full of love and dedication to her family. All of us close to her can attest to the care she provided us as we grew and throughout our lives, the phone calls on every birthday, the many decades of Christmas cards that were always the first to arrive, the help with our children even while still caring for her own, the meals that brought us comfort with that feeling of home from the very first bite and the advice that we didn’t think we needed but of course turned out to be right. She would worry and fuss for every member of her family praying for the best for them while not wanting to worry or bother anyone herself. Lily had such a big impact on so many of our lives and hers is a legacy of love and devotion that we can find comfort in as her memory lives on through us all. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered as she is held in the hearts of all the lives she touched in her 82 years.
She was the most loving and caring sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and will be truly missed. Lily is survived by 1 brother, 7 children, 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
We would love to hear and share in your memories of joy and love shared with Lily as we honor and remember her life.
As most of you would know Lily cared for her daughter Anne for over 56 years and in lieu of flowers or gifts to the family we ask that any donations be made to the Rescare Homes Trust who Lily entrusted Anne's care to last year and continue to provide the care and support for her that Lily devoted all her life.
Lily lives forever in our hearts.

Meghan
I met Auntie Lily when my family and I went to Auckland in 2015. She welcomed us into her home and gave us delicious fruits (our first time trying feijoa) grown in her backyard. She and Marilyn and June took us to see the Mt. Eden Crater and the Auckland Sky Tower. I will always remember and cherish Auntie Lily's generosity and hospitality. Sending love to the Kang family from Meghan and Winston Woo in Edmonton.
Johnson Wong
To all of the Kang Family, We bid farewell to your unique and beautiful mother. As well as being wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Lily was a loving sister to Johnson, dear sister in law to Kay, and fond aunt to Andrew, Melinda and Brendan. We had the privilege of knowing Lily, a courageous mother who wanted only the best for her family. A gentle, kind and generous woman who had a deep and abiding love for her maker. The joy of the Lord was her strength; may she continue towards His divine light. Thank you for the care, support and love that you gave to Lily when she moved to New Zealand and especially in more recent years. Lily took great comfort and happiness from her family and she loved you with all her heart. God bless, Uncle Johnson & Aunty Kay
