Elaine Reitsma

It’s with the heaviest of hearts, we announce the passing of Leslie Frances Reitsma (née Lennox) in the early hours of September 3, 2025. Born in Kingston, Ontario, Leslie was the daughter of the late Harold Keith (“Red”) Lennox and Katherine (Kay) Lennox (née Kehler). A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Leslie is survived children by Angela and Chris (Elaine), grandchildren Ayden (Kelsy), Amber, Adrienne, and Darien, and great-grandchildren Peyton and Emery. She is also remembered by her siblings Linda Suzanne Stanford (Jason and Katherine), Kevin Douglas Lennox (Jessica and Kayla), and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Barbara Ann. Fiercely protective, hardworking, and deeply loving, Leslie leaves behind countless memories of thoughtfulness and devotion to her family. There will be no service in BC. She was cremated and her ashes will be returned to Kingston to rest with her parents. In her memory, please consider becoming a blood donor or making a donation to the Canadian Diabetes Society or Canadian Blood Services. {There will be no service in British Columbia. Instead, Leslie’s family invites those who wish to honor her memory to do so in a way that reflects her generous and giving spirit. In the last several months of her life, Leslie received hundreds of blood transfusions. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider becoming a blood donor, or making a donation in her memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Canadian Blood Services.} We would like to thank the staff at Chilliwack General Hospital for all their efforts and care; the wonderful ladies in IV therapy, especially Sue, who always made sure her chair was ready; Dr. Donnolly and Dr. Bright, her family physicians, who went above and beyond; Pam and Stuart at Fraser Health Home Care for all of their advice and support; and Leslie’s care aides, Donna and Kathy, and later, Doreen, Thy, and Denise for their care and companionship; and Christa for everything. Forever loved, forever missed.
