March 14th, 1956 - July 7th, 2021
Kevin Douglas Jeter, went into God's arms July 7th 2021 in Stanton CA. Kevin was born to Helen and Harold Jeter March 14th 1956, in Wayne MI. As a young man Kevin moved to Southern CA. He met Annette Hintz, the love of his life, in 1988. Kevin and Annette spent 31 years in their home in Stanton. They built their life together, and raised their daughter, Kristin. Kevin was a loving partner, devoted dad, proud grandparent, and loyal friend. Kevin was a "the jack of many trades" including: carpenter, licensed barber, and mechanic. He spent the last two decades as a professional truck driver for Upstaging. He hauled sound, lighting, and stage equipment across the United States. He traveled to countless venues, for major headliners. When Kevin was not on tour, rocking and rolling, he enjoyed yearly road trips with Annette to Colorado to see, daughter & grandchildren. They often stopped along the Colorado River to enjoy the scenery. After the passing of his soul mate, Annette, he returned to his childhood home in Michigan each year for several months. He was able to spend some quality time with his mother and sister. But after his mom recently passed away, he returned to Stanton where he spent the last days of his life, close to the home he and Annette shared together. Kevin is survived by his daughter Kristin (Cole) Horne. Three Grandchildren Allison, Katelyn and Evan. Sisters Michelle (Ken) Jeter-Krasnikoff, Valorie (Glen) Lundgren, Tara Berro. Nieces, Christy Lundgren (Heather), Jessica Lundgren, Nephews Justin Krasnikoff (Melissa) and Jarrett Krasnikoff (Jacquleyn) And close family friend Tonya Baum. Kevin was proceeded in death by his wife Annette Hintz, Mother and Father Helen and Harold Jeter. Sister JayAnn. Grandparents Claude & Vera Christy, Cletis & Ova Jeter, Mother and Father in-law Milene and Merrril Hintz. A private celebration of life will be held by Kevin's family.

Dad I miss you. But you are always here for me to talk to.

Here's a photo of a visit Kevin made back to Michigan. I think I was 19 or 20. He is 24. I was still trying to get in on his party time with friends!

I wish I had more time with Gampa Kevin, it was always fun when they came to visit in Colorado or when I went to California. I will miss them both a lot but I hope he’s happy in heaven with Gamma. I am looking forward to meeting Gampas sisters and learning more about him and his family.

I am Kevin's youngest sister. I always thought he was so cool. Whatever he ordered me to do, I did it. I washed his cars and his motorcycle, cleaned up after him. I just wanted him to be happy. Oh my gosh, I was just such an annoying little sister. I loved all of his friends and had crushes on most of them. "Get Outta Here" was a phrase I heard a lot! Those were childhood years, then he moved out to California when I was 14 so I missed a lot of his adult years. He was a "Rolling Stone.” He loved his rock and roll lifestyle driving equipment for some of the biggest acts. I think the Rolling Stones had to be his favorite. The time I got to spend with him this last Winter was priceless. We were housemates and we were both in a strange place yet it was our childhood home. We both really missed California but Michigan was where we needed to be. Mom had passed in August and our sister Valorie was in full on work mode getting the house cleared out and dealing with all the things that need dealing with. Kevin and I were in awe of everything she got done. We couldn’t keep up with her but tried! We all got to be together. We celebrated his 65th birthday and we were all grateful to have had the time together. I got to know the adult Kevin. He is one of the most considerate people I've ever known. He isn't easily angered and he really wants everyone to be happy and at peace. Kevin was welcoming to me as I arrived in December. He had been there for a few months on his own. He never made me feel like I was cramping his style, always accommodating. He shared lots of stories about the years after moving away. He had a lot of fun in this lifetime. He had a few really good friends who loved him like a son or a brother. I know he is in a far better place. He is floating around in pure positive energy and no longer in pain. I’m so grateful I got to know him in his more mature years. A sweet and gentle man.
