Kent Klein
August 23rd, 1957 - December 11th, 2020
August 23rd, 1957 - December 11th, 2020
While we were certain he would outlive us all, Kent Andrew Klein was promoted to guardian angel on December 11, 2020.
Kent wore many hats during his life, but his most treasured were family patriarch, provider, protector, and of course, grillmaster. During his final years he enjoyed competing for the most hours watched of the History Channel, jokingly (we think) threatening his son-in-laws with his cane, spending time with his family and friends, and since there was no beach nearby, taking long walks to the mailbox.
Kent Andrew Klein was born on August 23, 1957 to Lawrence and Marion (Machart) Klein in Devils Lake, ND. He was raised and attended school in Alsen, ND and graduated from NDSSS with a degree in plumbing. He worked several years as a plumber in North Dakota before moving to Texas.
Kent married the love of his life in 1989 and went on to proudly survive raisinng two headstrong daughters.
Kent is survived by his wife Barbara Brown, daughters Candice Ranck and husband Jason of Lewisville, TX, Lisa Schilling and husband Jonathan of Copperas Cove, TX, brothers Kevin (Julie) Klein of Cedar Falls, IA, Jay Klein of Grafton, ND, Dennis (Darcy) Klein of Grand Forks, ND, Daniel (Diane) Klein of Fargo, ND and sister Lori (Joe) Illerbrunn of Langdon,ND, grandchildren Drew Ranck, Abby Ranck, Kaleb Hale, Erik Hale, and Tabatha Hale. Also several nieces and nephews.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Marion Klein, brother Jerry Klein, Grandparents Andrew and Myrtle Klein and Louis and Mary Machart.
