Keithroy Browne

Keithroy "Keith" Emmanuel Browne fell asleep in death on August 20, 2021, at the age of 67, in Elk Grove, Sacramento, California. In recent years, his battle with serious medical issues and life stresses showed his courage in facing life challenges, and always with "that smile." Despite the pain and difficulties, Keith came out as a hero and stayed strong until the end. Keithroy was born on February 21, 1954, in St. John's, Antigua, to Marie Alsweeta Browne and George Emanuel Joseph, the only child for the young couple. Both parents went on to have further children making Keith the older brother to 12 siblings. He was a proud Uncle to over 30 nieces and nephews and countless "adopted sons and daughters." As a child, Keith proclaimed that his goal was to achieve his highest potential and be the best at whatever he turned his hand to. His other lifelong goal was "to be the best provider and father he could be" and ensure his children had the best opportunities the world could offer them. He was never afraid of hard work, and he always valued providing for his family so that they would never want for anything. In 1976, he married for 23 years to Marilyn Browne (nee Roach), and together they had three fabulous children: Iyanna, Leon, and Yolanda. His second marriage to Zannah Ward yielded his last child and daughter, the amazing Keiannah August Louise Browne, who he always said: "her name meant the best of both of them." His legacy and greatest accomplishments began with his four children, and he was their biggest cheerleader. He had high expectations for them all - always seeing the possibility in them and helping them to reach their fullest potential. He also built a legacy around supporting young and vulnerable black boys and feeding those hungry and in need of the chance for a better life...two subjects that were very close to home for him considering his start in life. He will be remembered as a great Father, die-hard Arsenal fan, passionate cricket player and spectator, and lover of all things Antiguan.
