Never to be forgotten.
With condolences to all who loved her, Kate's siblings are inexpressibly devastated to share that she passed away on October 5, 2024, surrounded by friends and family. Kate fought hard and bravely until the end. She was our little sister, and the one-fourth of our quartet who captured 100% of our hearts. There are no sufficient words for what she meant to us. She was a stubborn fighter and quick with a joke until her very last moment of consciousness. While miles and cold circumstance may have kept us apart, the four of us were quadrants of a single heart, bonded by loss and perseverance. So much of that heart has stopped beating, it's difficult at the moment to imagine its future. We know many of her friends loved her dearly, and we created this page for you to share your memories. With much thanks for all the love that you poured into our sister's life, and in celebration of how much she loved each of you, we offer this space for your memories.

Katie was the most sweet, kind and loving young lady. I first met her when she was 13 or 14 and she was so dedicated to following Jesus and loved her family so much. I have a huge hole in my heart to think she is gone. Katie we love you and will see you on the other side. Peace of God be with Dan, Emily and Kelsey and family.

How my heart aches for this missing piece of your family. I am so thankful God crossed our paths in college, where I met Emily first. I was quickly introduced to the Rahe sisters of which was easy to see a deep and unique bond. I recall going to a college dance together and dressing up. I felt so honored to be included on such adventures and treasure those times. Know I will hold you close in my prayers, may Jesus hold you closer and give you peace beyond understanding. God holds precious Kate now. Love you girls. ❤️

I met Katie at a Christmas party at her house in December 1998. She was just about the sweetest, prettiest thing I had ever seen. We went on orchestra tour together the following summer, and she was my stand partner. Toward the end of the tour, she hid rotten eggs in my viola case as a prank, and it took me three weeks to figure out why my instrument smelled awful. On my 15th birthday, she and Kelsey gave me a CD album of the Alert Chorale and Men's Chorus which I still listen to from time to time. My 14-year-old heart was so captivated by Katie that I secretly wrote a piano piece for her: "Katie's Lullaby." Earlier this evening I was sitting at the piano, and my kids wanted me to play something I had written, so I played Katie's Lullaby. When they asked to see a picture of the girl who inspired it, I started looking for one on Facebook, but instead stumbled upon the terrifying news that she is now gone. I am heartbroken for Dan, Emily, Kelsey, and all of the family. Katie was very dear, and I will always remember her beautiful smile and gentle voice.

How did you meet Kate?
I met Kate through a live streaming app called younow and we became close, phone calls texts , messages back and forth on facebook, we never lost touch even as time went on, im shattered by her passing but im glad she is at peace. Love and miss u girlie
