*TRIBUTE TO MY FATHER IN “LOVE”🥰 PA THEODORE JULIAN OLASENI DA-SILVA* It is impossible to condense the memory of my dear father inlove Pa Olaseni Da-Silva with words. Honoring his legacy, sharing my memories of his wisdom and acknowledging his role as a mentor and family anchor will take more than words . Suffice to say he was a great man. My memory of Daddy dates back to 1983 after my initial introduction to his parents , my Fiancée ( Ayodele Amodu) took me to Gbagada to introduce me to his Uncle (fondly called Brother Seni & his wife) From the get go , Daddy& Mummy took me like their Biological daughter . He set to work quickly by registering me for marriage counseling at St Dominique’s Catholic Church, to ensure we were prepared for the journey of marriage. Daddy welcomed me into the family with open arms and unconditional love up to the end for which lam very grateful . His legacy of wisdom as a mentor , teacher and a source of sound advice which remained relevant for all seasons will forever remain cherished memories. 2012, when my husband (his nephew) passed, marked the ultimate love and support for the children and I . In the midst of the storm, his gentle voice & smile, impartial judgement and unconditional love filled the father in law hole in my heart.Daddy continued to attend the Amodu Family New Year Family tradition in honour of his nephew’s memory. He was present at all of the children’s weddings and was ever present as a custodian and reminder of the connection between the Amodu / Da-Silva ancestral past with the younger generations. I will miss Daddy’s treats whenever he is home on my visits to Gbagada. My favorite drink is a standard offer and other aguda delicacies from the small refrigerator in his room . He never failed to entertain me. I will miss his presence with mummy and I in her room as he quietly walks in for much enjoyed bonding time . For the many memories of Pa Da-Silva’s good deeds, his unconditional love, his fairness, his selfless support by showing up for weekday 6:30am Masses in remembrance of his nephew and other Ayo- Amodu family functions over the years , I will remain forever grateful . Ayo will be super proud of his uncle for holding the fort. Daddy se ojú, wón sèyìn, wón gbèyìn tún èyìn se. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed . May his gentle soul and the souls of all our faithful departed rest in peace . Amen Mrs Bukky Ayo Amodu & Children

TRIBUTE ---HE HAD GONE TO REST As I was growing up,I knew daddy as an extra ordinary humble person, who had respect for the least of his in-laws. Whenever we(Mama Porta's children) visited the house,he would always come down from upstairs to see us, discuss and give good advice. The last time I saw him was when he visited Port Harcourt for his friend's daughter's wedding. Our meeting and outing those days were filled with joy. Daddy was a very unassuming, warm and makes you feel at home in his presence. He has fought a good fight and has gone to rest. May his gentle soul rest in peace. Dr(Mrs) Titilola Cline (nee Ogundipe).
