A butterfly captures our hearts from the moment they appear. They are vibrant and graceful as their presence lifts our spirits. Gone much too soon, they will never be forgotten.
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Julia Louise Valaris, 66, of Sacramento, CA. She passed away on 12/04/2021. Julia was born to parents Dorothy and Robert Valaris on 05/29/1955 in San Francisco, CA. Julia grew up in the Richmond District and attended Star of Sea School and Presentation High School. Julia had settled in Rohnert Park for a while until she retired and followed her sons to the Sacramento area where she would later provide care for her two young granddaughters.Julia enjoyed a long career with The Sonoma County Child Support Division in Santa Rosa for more than 20 years. After many years of service and being very instrumental in the origination of the child support program we know today she retired from the County in 2005.She enjoyed playing bingo with many of her longtime friends, going to bingo blowouts with her sister and nieces and spoiling her two granddaughters Adalyn, 9 and Bricyn, 5. Julia absolutely lived for her boys, would do anything for family and friends and loved her family so much. Julie brought a special life to the Valaris family and kept a smile on all of our faces. She was up for adventures to include traveling across the United states in a car, snow sledding and of course her favorite: gambling in Lake Tahoe/Reno. She also had a love for Piper, a small rescue dog who joined the family recently and loved her right back, she brushed Piper's teeth each night before bed. Julia was preceded in death by her loving mother Dorothy, her father Robert, and her sister Jeana. Julia is survived by her two sons: Damien (Becca) Tillman and Kevin (Jessica) Sullivan, her grandchildren Adalyn and Bricyn, her sisters Tina Valaris and Lisa Selva; her three brothers Wyatt, Wayne and Wesley Valaris and many nieces and nephews. The family has entrusted Star of the Sea with the arrangements. A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for February 19, 2022 at 1:30 pm at Star of the Sea Church in San Francisco, CA. A reception will follow for close family and friends. Father Joseph Illo will officiate the ceremony.
A zoom meeting will be provided for those unable to attend in person. Please contact the family for details.
