Born to Tommie Quintana and Frank Duran, Juan Duran aka John,  was one of 15 children. He was raised in Salinas, CA. After high school he enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Germany where he met his wife Stefanie Duran. Together they had 4 children. Tanja Hofmann, Mina Duran, Juan Duran Jr. and Joseph Duran. After 8 years in the Army, John resigned and moved to San Jose, Ca. After 10 years of marriage they separated. John resided in Modesto, Ca with his partner of 32 years Irene Rodriguez.  He is survived by 12 siblings, 4 children and 8 grandchildren.
