Joyce Maxine Rose passed away unexpectedly at her home in Woodland Hills, California on November 29, 2019. She was 93 years of age. Joyce was preceded by her mother, Opal Helen Storts; her siblings, Bill Alexander, Jack Alexander and Gene Campbell; and her step-grandson, John D Thompson. She is survived by her husband, Clifford A. Rose; her daughter, Linda Sue Watts; her step-children, Thomas L Rose, Steven G Rose and Linda R Thompson; her grandchildren, Duane E Watts, Jr., Andrew C Watts, Daniel C Watts, Joseph M Watts, and Deborah L Watts; her step-grandchildren, Doug Rose, Michael Rose, Harrison Rose, William Rose, Lori Thompson, Cari Anderson, Julie Burns, and Amy Howse; and her great-grandchildren, Duane Watts III, Ethan Watts, James Watts, Oliver Watts and Henry Watts. Joyce was born on September 16, 1926 in Ubly, Michigan. She attended North High School in Columbus, Ohio and later finished her nursing degree at Grant Hospital in 1947 while participating in the United States Cadet Nurse Corps. On April 6, 1962 she married Clifford A. Rose and lived with the love of her life through the rest of her days. Joyce wanted to be a nurse since age six and followed this career her whole life. After serving for 27 years at Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys, California, she retired at age 72 as Director of Nursing. Joyce was a skilled nurse and administrator, but the love of her life was her husband and her family. She was a devoted Christian, attended Faith Baptist Church in Canoga Park, California and taught women's bible studies at Bible Study Fellowship International. She was a mentor to many and always held a generous heart to those in need Joyce specifically requested that the following epitaph be used upon her death: "Here lies the earthly remains of a woman who insists she was the most blessed woman who ever lived."
